Deathhunter you have contributed A LOT....i wanted to ask a few questions regarding the nokia 3110c model...

first of all, does it belong to the s40 series? it was listed in the main forum page, but i couldnt find anyhting about it here...

secondly, are the applications of one s40 phone compatible with every other s40 model? like for isntance if i download some software for a 3100 will it work on my 3110c??

A1) Yes, it's an s40v2 mobile.

Q2) Are the applications of one s40 phone compatible with every other s40 model?
A2)
No, because as you see there are {s40v1, s40v2, s40v3} I even heared that there is {s40v5}, but that is not important, the important is that there are various mobiles screens sizes,

for example the 3100 have a 128x128 pixels screen, while the 3110c is a 128x160 pixles screen mobile, so there applications will not work on each others,

Yet, if you have two different mobiles but with the same screen size, such as {3100 and 6220} then there is a 95% chance that there applications will work on each others,

One last thing, each mobile have a maximum limit for a single file size {Written in the mobile manual} for example the 6220 maximum limit for a single file is 64kb, so if you found a 128x128 application but with a size of 65kb or more, then you won't be able to upload it to 6220 even though it have it's same screen resolution.

Nokia 6288 is an a 240 x 320 pixels mobile, and it's an s40 mobile, so you should search for 240x320 jar. format applications.

Well, I am not 100% sure about it's type, but I can see that it's been compared with n95, so I'll say that it's an s40v5.

hi carlo, i m also using 6288 and some appl are working great but some those req phone sys access are not working. is ur prob same to me or does ur phone high lights

Unlocking only removes network restriction codes, nothing to do with java implementations. Debranding it and updating it with the latest software might solve you issue. Try the NSU first to update your phones software to the latest version, other wise you may have to install an unbranded version, any way here is a link for 6288 firmware.

hi there, this is regarding ur post on 3rd march 2008. as told i upgraded with nsu but still it does not give access to application. the only thing it changed is THE RIGHT SELECTION KEY, i had changed it from PLANET 3
to CALENDER. and now i m thinking of FLASHING. u Talked about "Unbranded Flashing" what is this????
